How To Take Your Measurements

If you’re like most people, you've probably never ordered a pair of custom jeans. Instead, you have most likely purchased your jeans ready-made, either online or from a retail shop. Prosper would like you to know that ordering your custom jeans is considerably more than half the fun! In this article, we will walk you through 8 easy steps to take all the measurements we need to make the perfect pair of jeans.

Take Your Measurements In 8 Easy Steps

There is no magic when taking your exact measurements for your custom jeans. In fact, you will see that it is really quite easy. We recommend using an existing pair of jeans in order to take exact measurements.

·       Outseam Length

First, lay the jeans on the table. Lay them on the back, and do not fold them. Take the out seam length from the waistband top edge to the desired length.

·       Inseam Length

Then, take the in seam length from the crotch seam to the desired length.

·       Front And Back Rise

For the front rise, with the front of your jeans facing you, simply measure the length from the top edge of your waistband to the crotch line. Do the same thing for the back rise, with the back of the jeans facing you.

·       Waist Measurement

While leaving your jeans flat on the table, button them up and then take the measurement of the waist from edge to edge of the waist band. Then, multiply that measurement by 2, since the jeans are folded.

·       Hip Measurement

Now, zip your jeans if there is a zipper, or button them if they are button fly. Your hip measurements will be approximately 7 inches from the top edge of your waistband. Then, simply measure across the hip width. Multiply this number by 2.

·       Thigh Measurement

Next, take the thigh measurement from the crotch line across to the side of the pants. Then, multiply this number by 2.

·       Knee Measurement

To measure the knees, fold your jeans leg up to the crotch line and measure the knee straight across. Multiply this number by 2.

·       Leg Opening

Finally, measure the leg opening from one side to the other and multiply this number by 2.

Clone Your Existing Jeans, If Applicable

You might have an old pair of jeans that are too worn out but that you still hold dear. If you’d like, you can just have them cloned by Prosper! Actually, cloning existing jeans is even easier than taking measurements. Simply wash your jeans and send them to Prosper and he will clone them for you! Make sure to include all your specifications when sending them to us.

We can clone the style to your specs, but remember that we cannot imitate the fabric or the stone wash, nor some of the hardware you have on your old jeans. For more details, you can refer to our store to see the denim choice. Your new pair of jeans will have a fresh up to date look with the same perfect fit as your old ones.

Prosper Will Create Your Perfect Pair Of Custom Jeans

After we receive your old jeans and/or measurements, it will take about one or two weeks for Prosper to make your new pair of custom jeans. Prosper will contact you personally to discuss your order and your specifications. For example, he will confirm the denim weight, colors, and choice of hardware. During this time, please feel free to ask him any questions you might have.
